Botulinium Toxin
Botulinium neurotoxin is a protien produced by bacteria Clostridium botulinium. It temporarily prevents the release of neurotransmitter acetylcholine thereby relaxing the muscles. The toxin not only smoothens wrinkles but also prevents new ones from occurring. The effect of the toxin washes away in 4 to 6 months and needs to be redone. It’s a day procedure with no downtime which means that the patient can return to work immediately. The toxin starts working within a day or two but it’s full effect is seen after a week. It’s a novel technique which not only smoothen wrinkles but is also used to prevent neck spasms, excessive sweating and migraine.
How It Works?
A detailed consultation is done prior to the procedure. During the consultation we discuss the expectation of the patient and study the facial anatomy and it’s requirement.
How We Do It?
A numbing cream is applied for an hour or so to decrease any discomfort. Thereby, the toxin is injected into the muscles with a very small needle making sure that the patient is comfortable at all times.
What To Do After The Procedure?
The patient can go back to work immediately with very minimum aftercare which is explained to them in detail after the appointment.
