Chemical peeling or exfoliation is a safe, non-invasive, pain free procedure where a chemical solution is applied on targeted areas to cause a controlled destruction of damaged layer of skin. This leads to skin rejuvenation and remodeling. Multiple sessions of the same is required over a gap 2 to 3 weeks. There are 2 major categories of chemical peels – superficial and deep peel. The depth of the peel is decided based on the indications which are varied.
How It Works?
A detailed consult is done to understand the requirement and expectation of the patient. Depending on the same we choose between a single or a combination of chemical peel.
How We Do It?
It’s a lunchtime procedure which requires no downtime. The targeted area is cleansed and degreased prior to application of the peel. The peel is then applied over the targeted area for a set amount of time and further neutralized.
What To Do After The Procedure?
The patient can get back to work immediately but with strict sun protection. After a couple of days mild scaling and peeling is visible over the treated area which is managed by application of moisturizer and sunscreen.
